DEVOTIONAL

CULTIVATING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

This 21-Day devotional is not merely about understanding the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control— intellectually but about

integrating them into every facet of your life. Each day’s scripture has been prayerfully selected to challenge and encourage you. The reflection questions will prompt you to think critically about how each aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit can be more fully realized in your actions, thoughts, and attitudes. The daily prayers are crafted to help you seek God’s assistance and to align your spirit with His. This transformation not only benefits you personally but also impacts those you come into contact with, spreading the aroma of Christ through your words, actions, and life.

So many people struggle with anxiety. It seems to be a bigger problem today than it ever was...

Anxiety if defined as worry, fear or not being at ease, then the Bible has a lot to say about how to find help for those feelings.

The opposite of being full of anxiety would be peace.

The author of peace is Jesus.

We can have PEACE by demonstrating our faith in the LORD!

Can God take care of me? Sure He can.

Maybe the question I really need to ask myself is “will I let Him take care of me?”

A favorite quote of mine talks about our prayer life, about taking our concerns to the throne of grace.

“Your sigh is able to move the heart of Jehovah. Your whisper can incline His ear to you. Your prayer can stay His hand, and your faith can move His arm. Do not think that God sits on high taking no account of you.” - Charles Spurgeon

Scripture For Anxiety
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Isn’t it interesting that the one who keeps me from being at peace – is me! And the one who can give me peace is my creator! Why are we such knuckleheads who try to live without Him. Of course we are filled with anxiety, worry and fear when we don’t turn to the author of peace.

Later in this same chapter Paul talks about the fact that he can be content (at peace) even while he is facing starvation because he knows that God can take care of him. At times Paul didn’t know where his next dollar was going to come from. Ever been there? But God supplied his every need. Maybe we are limiting God when we are full of anxiety?

Philippians 4:19-20 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

You’ve probably heard verse 19 quoted a bunch of times. But what do you think is meant by verse 20? And when you think of verse 20 in relation to verse 19, does a light bulb come on for you?

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
